We have value!
Carl Sagan referred to life on this "pale blue dot," the earth. It is now part of me and millions of other people.
It made me wonder where on the spectrum of life, am I or you? Feeling grandiose? Maybe life has given you a couple of knocks and you are not sure?
As a person with a full range of emotions, I have dipped into every place on the emotional spectrum. I am still dipping in and out of the different places on the spectrum. I have learned to meditate, to “be in the moment.”
I have learned to put relationships first in some cases and in others to pull the plug. My motto is “love, peace, and harmony” now, here in this life. If a moment or situation is not on par with my motto, I need to bring it into that realm or move on.
Because of it, I have distanced myself from some family members who have made it their life’s purpose to criticize me. A criticism I can take, but not when it is relentless. I do that in my social life as well. Also at Toastmasters. If I can’t find what I am looking for, I move on. Life is too short and too precious to waste time.
This talk shaped my thinking a lot in this regard. Check out this link, it is less than 4 min: The most outstanding fact is that your atoms are the same atoms that are in the Universe.
I might be a speck on that pale blue dot, but I have value.
Please have a look and then tell me what you think. I am interested in your opinion. Jump on my soapbox and let’s hear your opinion.

Thank you for sharing yourself Magda.
ReplyDeleteI'm so proud of you. It's a brave thing to do - to cut loose those "high overhead" friends who zap all your energy and don't add value to your life. My problem is I'm not always sure what I'm looking for - so you're way ahead of me!
ReplyDeleteHi Tooshie - Thank you for your comment. I know we are so busy that we don't always take take of ourselves. Knowing what we need emotionally an spiritually is important and part of that care. I wish you all the best in finding out who you are and what you need.
ReplyDeleteGreat start to your soapbox M; your writing style is uniquely you. Now I am eager to follow, tell me more stories that will inspire me please.
ReplyDeleteThank you Carole. I thought many times in the past to start a blog. There were never any urgency. Now I have to do it. It is shaking my cage a bit. It is still early days. I can as always learn a lot from you.
DeleteYou are a role model to me. Your quote "Ask what you can do for yourself" is a great reminder for me to build the life I'm pursuing. I can see why you radiate positive energy - it's because you take care of yourself and not let people run you down with negativity.
ReplyDeleteThank you Raymond. I will talk a bit in future about those who are full of hot air/gass and those who for some reason think they should function as black holes. Ha-ha.
DeleteIt is a sign of your greatness and maturity to rise above criticism which is the first ingredient to living a happy and healthy life. I would like to follow your example and hope to change my life of twilight for the better. Hope you will keep writing and inspiring us.
ReplyDeleteThank you Faqir. Twilight... no this is the best part of our lives, because by now we know what we can and can't. I learn every day from you. I am so happy to work with you. I am looking forward to your project back home. Please keep me up to speed.
